The Queen has an impressive collection of luxury cars worth around £10million which she has amassed over her 65-year reign.

This is an impressive feat even though the Queen is not required to have a driving licence.

Despite the small royal issue of not having a driving licence, the 91-year-old monarch still boasts an impressive fleet of luxury vehicles including Bentleys, Rolls-Royces and Jaguars.

The Queen’s favourite car is believed to be the Land Rover Defender because it reminds her of the vehicles she used to drive when she served in the Women’s Auxiliary Territorial Service during the Second World War.

The online car dealer Car Keys has totted up the value of cars she has had in the garage over the years and has put a price tag of over £10 million on the collection.

The Queen currently has three Rolls-Royces, three Daimlers, two Bentleys and a number of Volkswagen support cars. These are all kept in the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace.

She also owns a custom-built 2015 Range Rover LWB Landaulet. This particular Range Rover has been modified with an open-air top so she and Prince Philip can wave to her subjects as she rolls by.

The maroon 4x4 is the fourth vehicle Land Rover has provided for the Queen's state processions, which started with a Land Rover Series 1 back in 1953.
The Queens' customised Range Rover

It is estimated that the Queen has owned about 30 Land Rovers over the years. The custom-built Bentleys are both fitted with a unique removable roof covering that allows onlookers to have an all-round view of the monarch during royal engagements.

The Queen was also a proud owner of a Jaguar Daimler V8 Super LWB, which was fitted out with a radio in the boot to communicate with Downing Street and the Home Office, quite like Lady Penelope, the secret agent seen in the television series Thunderbirds.

The vehicle also boasted a specially designed armrest to accommodate the royal handbag as well as unique switches to allow her to funnel air to the sides. She apparently told Daimler that she liked fresh air when driving but not directly on her face.

The car also had a secret button disguised as a cigarette lighter that would trigger neon interior lights in the event of an attack. It was sold at auction in 2013 for around £35,000.

Apart from her customised Bentleys, the Queen became the first customer for the new Bentley Bentayga, launched in 2015.

The most powerful SUV in the world, with a top speed of 187 miles per hour, it is also the most expensive with prices starting at £162,000 for the basic entry-level model.

When it comes to her favourite though, the Land Rover Defenders; she had one custom-built back in 2002, featuring raised suspension, green leather upholstery and heated seats. It fetched £30,240 at auction in 2014.
